As soon as the spring comes, the heathers and the brooms colour the Açor Mountain rose and lilac. The landscape is magnificent! But here, the biggest surprise is called Piódão. In between curves the schist houses, which seem to be hanging dangerously, paint an enchanting picture. At Piodão, the labyrinth of schist streets, the details of the doors, the blue colour of the door and window frames, indication of a good omen, probably inherited from an ancient Arab custom, compose an almost perfect symphony! Our attention goes immediately to the little Mediaeval white church, which is surrounded by the schist houses.
